This was only his fifth career start and, given his size and scope, he is open to any amount of improvement. Goodbye Mr Bond, dropping back in trip after his recent Redcar success, ran a fine race under his penalty, but was unlucky to come up against such a progressive horse as the winner. Skidrow, who may have found these conditions against him, was comfortably held in third, while Sew'n'so Character had no apparent excuses one place further back. Mezuzah, who had the ground to suit, has never won off a mark as high as this, while Tyzack, who has been in such great form on the all-weather, had his colours firmly exposed back on turf; that said, he was running off his highest-ever mark and this ground may have been too testing for him. |
