ANALYSIS: A competitive handicap, won in very pleasing style by PRIDE OF NATION, who was always going well and who only needed to be kept up to his work to win with something to spare. This was only his fifth career start and, given his size and scope, he is open to any amount of improvement.

Goodbye Mr Bond, dropping back in trip after his recent Redcar success, ran a fine race under his penalty, but was unlucky to come up against such a progressive horse as the winner.

Skidrow, who may have found these conditions against him, was comfortably held in third, while Sew'n'so Character had no apparent excuses one place further back.
