ANALYSIS: A competitive race in which HEIR TO BE, freshened up by a short break, took advantage of the last-flight tumble of Sunset Light to win as he liked. The useful dual-purpose performer looked to be getting the upper hand, after making an error himself at the previous flight. His trainer felt the steady pace assisted the gelding, who can become disappointed in a strongly run heat.

Pardon What plodded on for minor honours, showing his first worthwhile form since November from a mark 4lb wrong, while Just Beth made her customary frame finish over a slightly shorter trip than that over which she'd finished second here on her previous outing.

Victom's Chance had gone up 6lb for finishing second last time and found the weight anchoring him.

Alright Now M'Lad was close enough if good enough but when asked to raise his game the response was muted.
