ANALYSIS: Only two got into this and they filled the first two places, with PERCY DOUGLAS just getting the better of Mystery Pips. The winner, an all-weather regular, stuck to his task in gritty fashion and turned the tables on the penalised winner following their most recent encounter over this course-and-distance.

Mystery Pips went down fighting in second, but was never able to confirm her recent superiority over the winner on these revised terms.

Eternally, who misbehaved and dropped his jockey on the way to the start, filled third spot behind the same two horses last week and did so again, comfortably held, it has to be said.

Katie Killane ran respectably, without looking like a winner waiting to happen.
