ANALYSIS: A fair gallop to this mile handicap in which TAKES TUTU gained compensation for some consistent efforts but was gaining his first win since 2003. Suited by the decent gallop, he came late to win decisively but isn't guaranteed to follow up. James Caird, who had run well in the mile-and-a-quarter Zetland Gold Cup, is another infrequent winner, but this trip is arguably too short for him, so he wasn't totally disgraced. Granston, who raced quite keenly, turned in another solid effort, Vicious Warrior had every chance and Flighty Fellow never got into it but wasn't knocked about. Wing Commander was quite keen early and Esquire, who showed up well early, dropped right out. Although easier ground might suit the latter, he ran as though something was amiss. |
