ANALYSIS: A furious gallop to this nine-furlong event, which lent itself to those coming from off the pace, most notably KRUGERRAND, who ran on relentlessly from the 2f pole to get on top near the finish. Although he ideally prefers a sounder surface, he lovesthis course and has now won three times here.

Goodbye Mr Bond, who loves to come from off the pace, did so here and only just failed.

By contrast, Nevada Desert chased the two clear leaders and went to the front more than 2f out. He stuck on, to his credit, but was outpointed inside the last by the two fastest finishers.

Mezuzah, who had conditions to his liking, held every chance, but his high head carraige under pressure did not convince that he gave his all when it became tough going.

Topatoo ran a fair race, while Bolodenka, a stablemate of the winner, did some sterling work in the last 2f on his first outing after a short break.

Adoration forced the pace, set by Wahoo Sam, and, having done so much running so early, was laid bare in the last 2f.
