TOTE WIN £5.80 PL £2.10, £2.40, £1.70; Ex £31.50; CSF £37.84 ANALYSIS: A decent contest. The official rating proved a reliable guide with ST ANDREWS returning to winning form meeting his rivals in this event on favourable terms. He was held up for the early part of the race but came with a good run to lead towards the far side well inside the final furlong. He is a tough performer who is best with a little cut underfoot. Polar Ben had a stiff task trying to give 6lb to the winner but ran well. He was a little awkward as the stalls opened but was soon racing on an even keel and came through to throw down his challenge on the far rail in the final furlong. He put up a sound effort and should soon be adding to his score. Lateen Sails raced on his own towards the stands' side early on and came through to lead over 2f out but, once again, carried his head high and hung left in the closing stages. He has the abililty to win a race of this nature but is clearly not the most enthusiastic in a finish. Royal Prince had a stiff task at the weights and ran as well as could be. He gave the impression a slightly longer trip would be in his favour and if James Fanshawe can find a similar event over 1m1f then it could be time to shout bingo. Auditorium stayed on in the closing stages without getting in a blow and ran well enough facing a stiff task. Mukafeh was up in the front rank for a long way and appeared to suffer interference when Lateen Sails hung across him. He ran well but looks too highly rated. |
