BEECHWOOD GRANGE STUD - OPEN DAY 2003

A well-attended Open Day was enjoyed by over 300 guests on October 19th.
Proceedings commenced at 11 a.m. with a welcoming drink before the stallion parade got under-way at noon.

First on show was CLASSIC who has had a busy season this year, covering mares for all disciplines.

His progeny have been prolific winners in the show ring, both in hand and under saddle.

Next we had the
"Flying Grey", PARIS HOUSE.

Jack Berry who trained Paris to win 6 races from 10 starts said "he was the fastest horse he had ever trained over 5f".

He retired to stud sound and the only time he ever saw a vet when he was in training was to have a flu jab!

Paris has winners at home and abroad including Group & Stakes winners and placed progeny

including Group winners under both codes

ROBERTICO

First season sire 2003

He is the winner of the German Derby
and being from the same sire line of Bob Back
he is a very good dual stallion prospect

ELMAAMUL

Standing his first season for 2003 at Beechwood,
he has enjoyed a very busy season.

His Group winners this season include
Lateen Sail and Risk Seeker

Stud Fee 2004 £2,000

MUHTARRAM

Beechwood's latest addition Muhtarram
who arrived last week from Shadwell Stud
has settled well into his new surroundings.

He will be standing at
£3,000 for the 2004 season

Guests were then invited to take a tour of the yard to view stallions and some of this years foals and older progeny

 

 

The parade and tour ended just as the weather broke
and guests made their way to the marquee to
enjoy lunch and drinks.

A raffle was ran by Jack Berry and raised £1,775 on behalf of the Injured Jockeys Fund,

To end the day Jonathan Pycock from Equine Reproductive Services gave a very interesting talk on all the latest techniques involving scanning and reproduction.
