MUARA just got on top near the finish, leaving her previous effort well behind. A high draw played in her favour, just as it did for Slipperfoot, who looked to have this in the bag before being worn down late on. This was her first run of the season and she ought to be able to win something similar. Estoille did very well from a single-figure draw, while Cut Ridge shaped better than on his comeback last month. Suhezy ran a fair race from her midfield draw, along with Jahia. World At My Feet, coming right back in trip, showed bags of speed until being outpointed inside the last. |

Pool of £108.60 carried over to Saturday ANALYSIS: Some familiar names in this five-furlong dash, which was largely dominated by the joint-favourites ESTOILLE and Laurel Dawn, who were duelling for the lead from the outset. The winner went to the front about halfway and kept on really well. She had a chip removed from a knee last year, and may have taken her two previous runs to get back into the swing of things. On this showing, she may be able to win again. Laurel Dawn had no excuses, but was unable to quite mix with the winner in the closing stages. Shopfitter, who was always prominent, was unable to make any real impression on the front two, while Goodbye Girl, comfortably held in fourth, was hardly helped by carrying 4lb overweight. |
