ANALYSIS: MISTY PRINCESS has been in fair form this year and won for the second time, just holding from Geojimali. The winning trainer hopes there may be one more chance in this company before the Handicapper has his say.

The runner-up missed the break but finished very strongly, his first glimmer of ability.

Border Artist also finished well from an unpromising postion but this is as good as he is.

Laurel Dawn, a 5f winner at Southwell last time, forced the pace, but the final furlong found him out. The favourite, Union Jack Jackson, was possibly unlucky, having found nowhere to go in the home straight.

ANALYSIS: Less than two lengths covered the first four in this strongly-run event in which MISTY PRINCESS, who was struggling two out, came home well to snatch it in the last couple of strides. It was her first success on her 25th attempt.

Union Jack Jackson was clear entering the final furlong, but idled in front and was caught. He has the ability to win in this grade.

This was a sound run by Sergeant Slipper, who missed the break but stayed on strongly and was a shade unlucky.

Cleveland Way and A Teen both had every chance, but Roko met trouble on the home turn and had to be snatched up - his running is best ignored

ANALYSIS: Plenty of pace on here and nothing much got into it from behind as MYSTERY PIPS, whose best performances have all come when able to dominate, kept her rivals at bay. Back to form when a close fourth over course and distance last time without the usual headgear, she stepped up on that here.

Percy Douglas is winless since 2002, but shaped creditably in second, just as he had done when behind Mystery Pips here last time. He seemed to respond positively to the combination of tongue-tie and first-time-blinkers, but was ultimately well held by the winner.

Eternally and Misty Princess both stayed on slowly but surely, but could never land a blow. They may do better over an extra furlong.

TOTE WIN £2.40 PL £1.50, £1.90, £4.40; Ex £10.20; CSF £7.54

ANALYSIS: A run-of-the-mill maiden won in convincing fashion by STONEACRE BOY, who responded well to the fitting of first-time blinkers. Seemingly suited by the drop back to this trip and handling this surface well - his first experience of it - he came away inside the last.

Succeed, meeting the winner on 5lb worse terms than in a handicap, came out best of the rest, just ahead of Misty Princess, who shaped well considering she had a tough task at these weights - a comment which also applies to Muktasb.

Both the third and fourth have been beaten in banded company, which puts the overall strength of this contest into perspective.

Going Skint still looked a little raw, and will be better with experience, but Island Green turned in a pretty tame effort.
