TOTE WIN £5.70 PL £1.40, £7.10, £1.90; Ex £107.70; CSF £107.73 Whinhill House was the subject of a friendly claim. Exposed performers in this sprint claimer in which WHINHILL HOUSE jumped out smartly, made all and was never caught, scoring eased down. He had a sound chance on official ratings, and was reversing last week's form with Compton Classic on better terms. Dematraf, rated 41 and making her seasonal debut, ran well enough in second ahead of Rothesay Dancer, who ran creditably, but has a modest win record. Blackheath got a bit outpaced and could never get on terms. His stable companion Rudi's Pet dwelt, and from his draw against the rails, didn't get the best of runs, but couldn't be counted unlucky. |

Exposed sorts in this seller in which WHINHILL HOUSE gained the 11th win of his career, three of them on this track, coming late to get up in the last stride. Although the majority of his wins have been at 5f, he clearly stays 6f well enough. Borzoi Maestro had 14lb to find with the winner on BHB figures, but ran a good race in second, making the running and being headed only in the last stride. He'll be interesting back in handicap company before he's reassessed. Penel shaped a bit better than of late, running on for third, though never getting to the leaders. Rudry World was the least experienced member of the field and shaped as though he may be able to win in similar grade. Soba Jones lost his chance with a slow break, and Mister Incredible, who was second turning for home, looked far from straight forward. |

Pool of £322.22 carried over to Saturday 7th April. Those racing down the middle of the course dominated throughout, as is the usual pattern here. WHINHILL HOUSE had been drawn high on his return to action here last month after a six-month break and never got competitive, but he was sharply away on his occasion and galloped all the way to the line to record his fourth course and distance success. Dysonic chased the winner throughout, but the dual banded race winner was always playing second fiddle, though he kept the rest at bay and this was as good a performance as he has given. Triskaidekaphobia, who had made all at Wolverhampton last month and was racing off a 6lb higher mark on this first try on Fibresand, ran close to his Wolverhampton form but it was not good enough for him to follow up. \Favouring, knocked about at the start and then outpaced, ran well in the circumstances but is proving difficult to win with these days. Thoughtsofstardom, who has been running creditably of late, appeared not to like the kickback on this occasion and was beaten at halfway. |
