Heavy showers had a dramatic effect on the ground, which originally forecast to be good to firm, was changed to soft and soft in places.
Conditions came right for Parisian Playboy, who is considered much more at home on an easy surface. He proved it here, recording a big priced success, racing towards the far side. Given his overall profile, he would not be one to bank on to follow up.
