TOTE WIN £11.90 PL £3.60, £2.70, £3.20; Ex £63.40; CSF £63.94; TRICAST £591.04 ANALYSIS: Not many got into this, and the draw was a factor, as it had been in sprints here earlier in the week. That GOLDEN DIXIE should overcome his stall two draw says much for his connections' enterprise and luck in running. Dropped across the back of the field towards the far rail after a slowish start, he had to weave his way through from off the pace but picked up well when he saw daylight and led close home. He is doing well for his new stable and could go in again at a similar level. Whinhill House has been in terrific form lately and only just failed to defy another hike up the handicap, having gone on at halfway. His winning run started from a mark of 60, and he was off 82 here. Like the first two, Dame de Noche represented a stable ingreat form at present and she ran a big race under top-weight, admittedly helped by a good position on the far rail. OK Pal didn't get the rain connections hoped for but was allowed to run anyway and was far from disgraced, keeping on at the finish. Catch The Wind was short of room against the far rail, racing on the heels of Dame de Noche. She ran better than the bare facts suggest. Trotters Bottom is also better than the bare form, as he was slowly away and was checked around 2f out. Thurlestone Rock didn't enjoy the best of runs either, but was going on again at the finish. Those that stayed wide from their low draws, among them Simpsons Mount, might as well have stayed at home |
