ANALYSIS: A strong pace for this sprint, which suited those coming from behind including FOXIES FUTURE who was in rear going into the bend, but came through to lead over 1f out for a decisive success. She had been running into form, shaping well after a slow start on her previous start, and this race was run to suit.

Laurel Dawn bounced back from a poor effort on turf in a first-time eyeshield, but looked less than a straightforward ride, under pressure some way out then picking up late on and passing three rivals in the last 100 yards. Juwwi was outpaced over 4f out but kept on for third. This was his second good effort in successive days, and he avoided his customary slow start both times.

Emperor Cat ran creditably on his reversion to sprinting and deserves credit as he did best of those who were in the firing line off the home turn. Polar Haze ran respectably, but the habitually slow-starting Sergeant Slipper was never nearer, and may just have been flattered by the way the race was run. By contrast Aboustar, Baytown Flyer and Cleveland Way all took each other on in front and are a shade better than their finishing positions suggest.
