TOTE WIN £3.90 PL £1.70, £1.70, £2.70; Ex £38.60; CSF £37.03; TRICAST £277.73 ANALYSIS: Dropping back in trip after being beaten at Ripon on Monday, TANFORAN, with David Allan on board, picked up well in the last furlong and a half to win in convincing fashion. He is effective over this seven furlongs and a mile. Paris Heights, 6lb out of the handicap, took a bit of stoking up to get going, but stayed on to take the runner-up spot. Just Bond was keen enough and again tended to hang left, but kept on without being able to get in a blow. Brut, who was tackling this trip for the first time, was in front two out, but gave best inside the final furlong. It was a decent effort, but it is not easy to determine what his best trip is. Persian Carpet was never able to get in a blow, but did keep on under pressure. After the race rider Ben Swarbrick reported that the filly was never travelling. Queue Up made an encouraging seasonal return, and appearing to be on a reasonable handicap mark, he should be capable of winning in this sort of company. First-time blinkers did not help Geordie Dancer, and Guadiaro, who led going into the final bend, back-pedalled disappointingly once headed. He was done with too far out to blame the trip. Danny Tudhope reported that Red Chairman lost his action and collided with the rails. |
