TOTE WIN £14.40 PL £3.20, £4.40, £3.10, £4.50; Ex £615.90; CSF £176.32; TRICAST £1871.98 ANALYSIS: This was a fiercely competitive handicap and the 5lb allowance of the capable Andrew Mullen was enough to tilt the tables the way of MY PARIS. He had won on this course and distance 12 months ago off an 8lb lower mark and, although not performing to his best from a bad draw in the Bunbury Cup, found his return visit much more to connection liking. He was soon chasing the leader on the far side and leading over two, rallied strongly when briefly headed by the third in the final furlong. He could continue to acquit himself well in these type of event as the handicapper will surely not overreact to this narrowest of successes from a fully exposed individual. Capable Guest put in a fine effort as he powered down the centre of the course in theclosing stages. He has only won one race in his career but should soon change that situation. Bahiano chased the leaders on the far side a few lengths off the pace and came with his challenge entering the final furlong but was just run out of the spoils. He certainly looks capable of winning off his current mark and deserves a change of luck. Sabbeeh ran his best race for some time and tanked along towards the stands rails in company with Irony. He kept on quite well in the closing stages and his effort gives encouragement for the future. Ettrick Water put his poor effort at York behind as he raced in front from the start on the far side and kept on in the closing stages. He is clearly coming back to his best and can soon find a race. Look Here's Carol ran creditably and Presto Shinko was another to run well from his draw. |
