TOTE WIN £2.70 PL £1.30, £2.20, £2.40; Ex £27.90; CSF £36.15 The winner was bought by Martyn Meade for 8,000gns. ANALYSIS: A poor seller. MOLLY DANCER had managed just one placing in eight previous starts, but she was still the clear form pick and, despite hanging right and then flashing her tail when shown the whip, she ran out a ready winner. Wilford Maverick, who won a Banded race at Wolverhampton in February but had been well-beaten in two outings since, kept on from well off the pace for a respectable second. He finished well clear of seasonal debutant Paris Heights, who in turn was 10l in front of pacemaking Robmantra, who patently failed to see out the trip on the ground. |

Sir Anthony was having his fifth run but he still looked green. He may not be a straightforward ride, ducking left when coming under pressure, but he has ability and finished strongly once straightened up. A mile will suit him. Il Colosseo had been unruly in the stalls, but he knew his job in the race, showing pace and travelling well. His rider was suspended for not riding him out for second place, but this was a promising debut. Paris Heights was well held, but he has shown ability and is now qualified for nurseries. Fenrir was a 100-1 chance when winning at Ayr last time, but this was a tougher test and it proved too much for him. |
