TOTE WIN £2.00 PL £1.40, £5.30; Ex £9.70; CSF £10.42 ANALYSIS: Only the six runners and the bare form is just modest, but a maiden that should produce some winners in the coming weeks. AMBER GLORY offered plenty of promise when third in a Musselburgh maiden that has worked out well (the second and fourth havewon since) and confirmed that promise to get off the mark at the second attempt. Showing the benefit of that first run, she was always close to the pace and kept on right the way to the line. A tough sort, she will apparently now aimed at a novice event for fillies at Thirsk and should continue to progress. Looking North stepped up on what she showed on her debut in a competitive Doncaster maiden, but she did not help her chance by continually hanging to her left. If that can be sorted out, sheshould find a similar race. Tour D'Amour improved on what she showed on her debut in a Lingfield conditions race and offered plenty of encouragement. Having struggled to go the early pace, she stayed on in the closing stages without being given too hard a time and looks capable of further progression, especially when stepped up to six furlongs. Titus Wonder, a 12,000gns purchase, and a half-sister to a winning sprinter in the US, out of a high-class juvenile, caught the eye on her debut. Having started slowly, she made up the lost ground readily, only to tire out of contention in the closing stages. She should be all the better for this experience. Par Excellence could not confirm debut placings with Tour D'Amour and, although there has to be a chance this surface did not suit, she does not seem to be progressing. Sweetly Sharp looked in need of the experience but did not offer a great deal. |
