ANALYSIS: A moderate sprint handicap in which the first three home were drawn in the bottom three stalls.

BAILEYS APPLAUSE, switched to Fibresand for the first time, reversed recent Wolverhampton placings with Lady Algarhoud and proved good enough to get off the mark at the 13th attempt.

It may be that she has improved a little for switching to fibresand, but she did not have much in hand.

Ben Casey had been shaping in recent outings as though a step up to six furlongs would suit, but the trip wasnot a problem this time and he was just held. He is still a maiden, but clearly has the ability to pick up a small race.

Lady Algarhoud failed to progress on the form she showed to make a winning debut in a Wolverhampton seller for Ian Wood on herracecourse debut, and gave the impression another furlong may suit.

Misty Princess ran much better than at Nottingham just two starts previously and offered some hope.

Little Biscuit posted a creditable effort, but seems better off in selling company.

Azuree ran a little better than of late, but wants another furlong.
