TOTE WIN £7.70 PL £2.80, £2.50, £3.40; Ex £37.30; CSF £42.63 ANALYSIS: Few to rely upon in this contest but ACE CLUB had hinted at a return to form over 7f here three days earlier and confirmed it at the shorter trip, allaying fears over his effectiveness at the trip as he was soon in touch, led over 1f out and scored tidily. He missed the summer through injury, but looks back to his best now and should continue to give a good account in banded company Ð at 6f or 7f. Jacks Delight did better than over 5f here last time but found less than might have been expected after travelling well Ð he remains a maiden after 14 starts, though he has made the frame on his last six outings, and does not look easy to win with. Westborough ran his best race to date on this surface, making the early running and having enough left to hold on for third. He seems to be returning to a bit of form and is potentially better than this grade if he can build on this effort. Lizzie Rocket started slowly and did well to finish as close as she did Ð she had been racing over 7f andwill probably be suited by returning to that trip. Sergeant Slipper stayed on late in customary style for a respectable effort, but fitting an eyeshield to Secret Vision did not pay off who was slowly away and always behind. |
