ANALYSIS: There was apparently a measure of confidence about the chance of MYSTERY PIPS who had run well on her last two appearances. The confidence was justified as she showed good early pace and ran right to the line to win decisively. She is most effective on fast ground on turf.

Doughty had shown a bit more encouragement on his last run, and he ran well again here, sticking on well without quite being able to collar the winner.

Laurel Dawn had been reluctant to go down, and was strugglinga bit early on in the race. But rousted along he stayed on to finish somewhat closer than it had looked possible.
