ANALYSIS: Little strength in depth to this sprint maiden, in which the field were strung out from an early stage, and the form looks ordinary.

PIPPA'S DANCER, held up and unplaced on both her previous efforts to date, pinged out from her inside draw and made virtually all to get off the mark with a ready success. Racing prominently over this shorter trip and on the faster surface proved right up her street and she was full value for her winning margin. Her future lies in handicaps and she may have more to offer.

Disguise, who showed fair form last year and at one stage boasted a Gimcrack entry, was understandably well backed for this three-year-old debut, but his fate was apparent some way out and he must rate as disappointing. He has the talent to find a similar contest over this trip, but clearly also has his problems and is not one in which to place any great faith.

Starduster was soon up with the pace and had every chance. She may be better off in handicaps and helps set the level of thisform.

Hayyani found less than looked likely when push came to shove and did not look overly suited by this drop back to the minimum trip. He appeals as the type to improve when eligible for handicaps and may ideally want an easier surface.

Patternmaker was forced to race wide from his draw and looked uneasy on this firm ground. He is better than this.
