ANALYSIS: Not the most competitive of sprints, but it still needed a career-best effort from WHINHILL HOUSE to win it. He was beaten by the draw at Lingfield last time, but earlier wins there and at Wolverhampton had confirmed that he is very much on the upgrade.

Pawan has done all his winning over longer distances and, not surprisingly, found the pace a bit hot. But he kept on well for pressure to confirm that he is in good heart right now.

Little Ridge had looked good when scoring here last month and again travelled well, but he was inclined to edge left when asked for his effort approaching the furlong mark and did not find as much as the front two.

Johnston's Diamond got a bit outpaced after halfway but was running on well again at theend. He is probably best at 6f.

Fergal Lynch reported that Midnight Tycoon was blinded by the wet fibresand.
