She is a very speedy individual, and her main target is the ‘greys only race' at Newmarket on August 13, but she may reappear at Newcastle a week today in a sprint handicap which Sierra Vista, who is in the same ownership, won last year. The Leather Wedge showed his usual blistering pace, and despite tending to hang left in the closing stages, he held on to be second. He holds his form well too, and when he gets a rails pitch to help him, he will take some pegging back. Harrison's Flyer had to be switched to get a run and hampered Four Amigos in the process. The former kept on, but hadn't got the pace to peg back the first two. Four Amigos was running onwhen he was knocked out of his stride, and while he did not leave the impression that he would have won, he would have been closer. Highland Warrior missed the break again, but he wasn't able to finish with his usual flourish this time, and this was below his best. |
