ANALYSIS: A competitive fillies' Listed event was won in good style by the improving MECCA'S MATE, who has made remarkable progress this season having begun by winning a handicap at Musselburgh off a mark of 57. Now rated 93, she made the successful transition to Listed company, coming from well off the strong gallop to win a shade cosily. She's still on the upgrade, can be ridden from in front or behind but she doesn't want the ground too fast.
Fruit Of Glory came into the race on a mark 3lb higher than the winner, and ran a fine race, coming out best of those who raced up with the strong gallop. She's clearly just as effective at 5f as at 6f, and may be able to find a similar event.
Notjustaprettyface wasn't ideally drawn towards the middle of the track in stall 8, but ran on well without getting on terms and ran close to her best. However, with a mark of 94, she's not that easy to place.
The consistent Forever Phoenix was also drawn wide, and ran close to her best without looking like winning.
Pivotal's Princess raced close to the pace, and had every chance. Paradise Isle showed plenty of early pace but faded, but Dame De Noche, keen early, got no room in the closing stages and though better than the bare form, it's hard to know where she would have finished had she got the gaps.
