TOTE WIN £1.60 PL £1.02, £3.80, £8.20; Ex £9.80; CSF £19.91 ANALYSIS: Quick, watered ground for this meeting, which kicked-off with an ordinary maiden race. POWER POLITICS looked head and shoulders above these beforehand and so it proved in the race, bounding clear off the turn and, kept up to his work, never appearing likely to be caught. He was carrying plenty of condition here and is a horse with the scope to go further. Formal Decree, a likeable individual, shaped with promise in second and, although no danger to the winner, showed signs of ability. An extra furlong should benefit him. Legal Call ran a fair race in third, and was still shouting out after the race, showing signs of greenness and coltishness. Grazeon Gold Blend, who has already been gelded, looked a bit of a playboy beforehand, but he showed a hint of ability. Naqi, who lacks size, recovered from a tardy start to race prominently, but looked to be a little ill-at-ease on the ground and, tending to hang right in the straight, was soon struggling. |
