ANALYSIS: The whole field raced far side here and BLADES BOY won despite being drawn 1. Racing close to the pace, he was tending to edge right most of the way, but scored driven out. A progressive sort last season, he was disappointing on soft ground on his previous start, but found these quicker conditions far more to his liking, though with just over 6l covering the entire field, the form is probably nothing special.

Mytton's Bell, tried in cheekpieces, stayed on well, and ran better than on Saturday.

Howards Princess showed promise last term, and turned in a fair effort on her seasonal debut.

Compton Classic raced up with the pace, and though he tended to edge right, this was probably his best effort to date.

Ashes raced very keenly, and was badly hampered when making her challenge a furlong out, so though she may not have won, she is better than the bare form.
