ANALYSIS: A competitive nursery, which produced a good performance from GRAZEON GOLD BLEND, who stuck grittily to his guns inside the last to hold off the strong-finishing Choysia.

The winner, who had got off the mark in a maiden at Pontefract, clearly has plenty of foot and, having passed his handicap test here off a mark of 85, he may now be raised to Pattern company in the Flying Childers at Doncaster.

Choysia, who was pulled out sharply to find daylight approaching the final furlong, finished to some purpose, but was just too late to reach the winner. This effort suggests she is worth another try at six furlongs.

Greek Secret, a maiden, ran a sound race in third, while Wovoka, admirably consistent, made a bold bid to defy top-weight. The first four, not surprisingly, all came from double-figure draws, and the best of those from a single figure stall was Fortress, who stayed on, but who was comfortably held, after being taken off her legs early on; six furlongs would probably suit her better.

Thoughtsofstardom, making a quick reappearance after unseating his rider at Musselburgh on Thursday, ran fast from his unfavourable draw before weakening.
